By creating an account or using Skater XP ("the app," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the app. These terms apply alongside the Apple Standard End User License Agreement for apps distributed through the App Store.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Skater XP. If you're under 18, you're only allowed to use the app with permission from a parent or guardian. One account per person.
You own the clips, photos, spot info, captions, and other content you post. By posting, you grant Skater XP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, adapt, and distribute your content within the app and in promotion of the app (for example, sharing a clip on Skater XP social channels with credit to you).
You're responsible for your content. Don't post anything you don't have the rights to. If someone else appears in your clip, respect their wishes if they ask to have it removed.
We can remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these rules without warning.
You can report content or users inside the app. We review reports and take action when content breaks these terms. We may act faster on content that endangers safety. Abuse of the reporting system (mass-reporting to harass someone) may lead to action against your account.
Pro subscriptions and Contest Credits are sold through skaterxp.com via Stripe. Stripe handles billing and refunds under their terms; we never see your card number. You can cancel a Pro subscription anytime from your account settings — Pro features stay active through the end of your paid period.
Promo codes for Pro or Contest Credits, when issued, are non-transferable, may have an expiration date, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Each promo code may be redeemed only the number of times specified by Skater XP at the time the code is created.
Skater XP allows verified hosts (shops, brands, parks, and individuals who have purchased a Contest Credit) to publish ranked contests. Each Contest Credit lets the host run one ranked event. By entering a contest, you agree to abide by the host's rules, the venue's rules, and the event-specific waiver presented at signup.
Contest XP, podium placements, and badges awarded by Skater XP are intended for recognition purposes only. They are not redeemable for cash or other items of value unless the event organizer (not Skater XP) explicitly offers prizes.
Skater XP reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate these terms or the host's rules, and to remove contests that misuse the platform (e.g., contests promoting illegal activity, harassment, or fraud).
Judging. If you accept a judging invitation, you agree to score in good faith and apply the same scale to every skater. Scores are visible to the host, other judges, and the scored skaters once results are locked. You can edit your scores during the review window before results lock; after that, scores are permanent. Hosts may not pay or compensate judges in exchange for biased scoring.
Trophy Case. When the Trophy Case feature is enabled, contest-winning records are written to a public, permanent ledger as a recognition record. Trophies are not financial instruments, securities, or investments. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, sold, transferred, or exchanged through Skater XP. The ledger entry preserves the contest's history (judges, scoreboard, tricks) so you can show what you earned. We do not custody or facilitate the transfer of any payment-bearing assets.
Skater XP, its branding, logos, interface design, and original content are ours. Don't copy or reuse them without permission. Trick names, pro skater names, spot names, and other public information referenced in the app belong to their respective owners.
Skater XP provides registration and electronic-signature tools to event organizers. When you sign a waiver through the app, your agreement is with the event organizer, not with Skater XP. Skater XP is not a party to that agreement, is not the organizer, is not the venue owner, and assumes no liability for the conduct of the event.
Event organizers are solely responsible for the content of their waivers and for the legal sufficiency of the agreements they offer. Skater XP makes no warranty about the enforceability or completeness of any organizer-supplied waiver.
Typing your full legal name in the signature field and tapping "Sign" constitutes your legal signature under the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA). For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign via the magic link emailed at signup. Signed waivers, including the typed name, IP address, timestamp, and a hash of the agreement text, are stored on the participant's account and made available to the event organizer for their records.
Skater XP lets you optionally connect external accounts (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) to verify your identity, cross-link your skate clips, and — where the platform supports it — share your own clips out to that platform.
Connecting an account grants Skater XP read access to public profile information (handle, display name, follower count, avatar URL) and the list of your videos for ownership-validation purposes.
Posting to your connected account is always something you start. Skater XP never posts to your account automatically, on a schedule, or in the background. Where the app offers to share a clip to a connected platform, you choose the clip, write the caption, and set that platform's own privacy and interaction settings on a confirmation screen before anything is sent. Nothing is published to your account until you tap the post button on that screen.
Separately, Skater XP publishes its own promotional content to Skater XP's own social accounts. That is our account, not yours, and it never uses access you have granted or touches anything you have connected.
For TikTok specifically, sharing uses TikTok's Content Posting API. The available privacy levels are the ones TikTok reports for your account, no option is preselected for you, and any interaction setting you have disabled on TikTok stays disabled. If a post promotes goods or services, you disclose it on that same screen and TikTok labels it accordingly. Your use of TikTok remains governed by TikTok's own terms, including its Music Usage Confirmation and Branded Content Policy.
We never modify your external account and never share your access tokens with anyone. You can disconnect any account at any time from Settings → Connected Accounts; doing so revokes our access immediately. Disconnecting does not delete anything you already chose to post to that platform — remove that from the platform itself.
Cross-linked clips remain hosted on the external platform. Tapping a cross-link in the Skater XP feed opens the platform's canonical URL in your browser. Skater XP does not re-host or republish content from connected accounts.
Skateboarding has real physical risk. Skater XP is an app; it is not a coach, a doctor, or a spotter. You skate at your own risk. Always wear appropriate protective gear and respect local laws and spot rules.
The app is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all content posted by other users is accurate or safe. To the extent allowed by law, Skater XP is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your right to use the app ends. Some provisions (content license, intellectual property, disclaimers) survive termination.
We may update these terms from time to time. If the changes are meaningful, we'll let you know in the app. Continuing to use Skater XP after updates means you accept the new terms.
Apple's Standard EULA also applies to this app. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
